Privacy Policy

Overview

We don't store your messages. Thread → LLM processes Slack conversations in real-time and discards them. Your message content never touches our database and is never written to disk.

What We Collect

• Workspace ID: Required for OAuth authentication with Slack
• User IDs: Temporarily processed during command execution to anonymize output
• Usage Statistics: Anonymous metrics including:
  • Install/uninstall events
  • Command usage count (no message content)
  • Timestamp of interactions

What We DON'T Collect

• Message content: Processed in real-time and discarded after formatting. If you use an "Open in AI" button, the formatted text is held in server memory for up to 5 minutes so the link can work (see AI handoff links below)
• User names or emails: Not stored in our database
• Personal data: No profile information, no contact details
• Browsing history: No cookies or tracking scripts

Data Storage

• Installation Tokens: Encrypted and stored in PostgreSQL database (hosted on Railway) to maintain app connection to your workspace
• Usage Stats: Anonymized counters without message content or user identities
• Messages: Never written to disk, never saved to our database, never logged. The only exception is the short-lived in-memory buffer described under AI handoff links

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Thread → LLM:

• Slack API: To fetch messages when you run the /copy-thread command
• Railway: Cloud hosting provider for our application and database

We do NOT share data with:

• AI companies (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) - you paste the output yourself
• Marketing tools or analytics platforms
• Advertising networks
• Any other third parties

AI handoff links

The modal offers buttons such as Open in Claude. Slack limits the length of a link on a button, so instead of putting the whole thread in the link, we give the button a short link back to us and expand it when you click.

To make that work, the formatted thread is held in server memory only for up to 5 minutes, then permanently deleted. It is never written to disk, never saved to our database, and never included in backups. Restarting our server erases it immediately. If you click after it expires, you simply get an "expired" page and can run the command again.

Clicking the button sends the formatted thread to the AI provider you chose, using your own account with that provider. We never send your content to any AI provider ourselves, and we do not have an account or API key involved in that step. What happens to the content afterwards is governed by your agreement with that provider.

Nothing is submitted without you. Both destinations place the thread in the provider's message box and stop there — you can read it, edit it, or simply close the tab, and the content is only sent when you choose to send it.

Direct Messages

After installation, we send a one-time welcome direct message to the user who installed the app, containing a quick start guide and contact info. We do not send any further direct messages unless you reply to that message.

Data Retention

• Installation Tokens: Retained until you uninstall the app from your workspace
• Usage Stats: Retained indefinitely (anonymized, no personal data)
• Message Content: Processed in memory and discarded; never persisted to disk or database

Your Rights

• Revoke Access: Uninstall the app from your Slack workspace at any time via Slack settings
• Data Deletion: Contact us at support@kamilbuksakowski.dev to request deletion of installation tokens and usage stats
• Questions: Reach out with any privacy concerns or questions

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• Encrypted database connections (SSL/TLS)
• Encrypted storage of OAuth tokens
• HTTPS-only communication
• No local storage of message content

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Thread → LLM after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
